Teen Expertise

Shari is a parent and has been writing fiction and non-fiction for the teen audience for the past ten years. As a young adult writer, she's keenly aware of the pressure and stress teens face in today's fast-paced, competitive world, and has become an expert in suicide prevention, eating disorders, and teen addiction issues.

Drug-Free Lifestyle Advocate

Shari holds an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Her book, Wish I Could Have Said Goodbye, is utilized in drug treatment centers and in high schools as a communication tool to help kids talk about, and deal with, addiction issues. She also visits high schools and drug treatment centers where she talks to teens about how to deal with life without using destructive coping mechanisms.

Parenting Expertise

Shari enjoys writing and researching all kinds of parenting issues, but she is especially passionate about nutrition and topics surrounding our education system and learning disabilities. She believes kids need to learn critical life skills outside of the curriculum to excel.

Destination Imagination Team Leader

While Shari's kids were in elementary school, she volunteered to be a team leader for Destination Imagination, a national program that teaches kids leadership, teamwork, and creative problem-solving skills. Her team took second place in the regional competition.

Bachelor's Degree in Business

Shari grew up in a family business and was exposed to conversations around the dinner table about business ever since she can remember. She has a degree in business from Loyola University, Chicago, and worked in various capacities in the corporate world.
