Camille Berry

Camille Berry is a sommelier, wine consultant, and freelance writer. After studying English and Political Science at New York University, Camille moved back to California to pursue a career as a sommelier. As a writer, her work has been featured in a variety of publications, and she boasts an international list of clients. Part of the third generation in a family of successful restaurateurs, Camille has an unbridled passion for all things food, wine, and spirits.

Wine Expertise

Camille has earned both the Certified Sommelier and Certified Specialist of Wine accreditations from the Court of Master Sommeliers and the Society of Wine Educators, respectively. A committed lifelong student, Camille continues to pursue higher-level certifications.

Sommelier Competition Participant

In 2015, she competed in the Western Regionals for TopNewSomm, a national competition for sommeliers under 30, for the first time. She went on to qualify for a second year in a row in 2016, also participating in the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Young Sommeliers Competition.

Wine Buyer

Camille worked as a sommelier for such internationally recognized restaurant groups as Hakkasan and the Charlie Palmer Group. At the latter, she served as the lead wine buyer and program director.

Wine Consultant

She has spoken on discussion panels, volunteered for wine events like La Paulée and the San Francisco Vintner's Market, and currently spends her time as a wine consultant and educator.

Cocktails

Not content to focus solely on wine, Camille also makes a study of cocktails and spirits while dabbling in mixology. Building on a love for recipe development, she has created an arsenal of food-friendly beverages. Camille is BarSmarts certified.
