Tips for Making Your Margarita Spicy
Enjoy a fiery marg with just a touch of heat or crank it up to ten and be a fire-breathing margarita dragon. Whichever side of the scale your spicy heart wants, there’s a way to get there.
- Use jalapeño-infused tequila, either on its own or with freshly muddled jalapeño, Ancho Reyes, or jalapeño simple syrup.
- Instead of muddling jalapeños, try muddling habaneros, serrano chilis, or Aleppo peppers. But start small and slow. You can always add more heat, but you can’t take it away.
- Sprinkle in a few red pepper flakes when you’re shaking the margarita.
- Use a plain salt rim with your marg or swap in a spicy chili salt or tajín. Or rim lightly, ever so lightly, by rubbing with a jalapeño coin.
