We love a sparkling clean bathroom, but we're not fans of actually having to work our tails off cleaning them. But with these bathroom cleaning hacks, your bathroom will be clean and shiny in no time.

Sparkling Bathtub Hacks

Cleaning the bathtub is one of the least favorite jobs on the planet. For most people, it ranks right up there with cleaning the toilet. The next time you're tackling a dirty tub, try a few of these hacks.

Cut Grease With Dawn

If you are short on time and supplies, getting the scum out of your tub can be done with a little Dawn dish soap and a broom. After giving the tub a good coat in dish soap, take the broom and scrub the tub with swift strokes. It helps to add a bit of pressure until the dish soap starts to foam. After a few minutes, rinse and spot-clean the missing areas. This will not only save your wallet but your back as well.

Remove Rust With Salt and Lemon

No, you are not going to make a margarita (but if it motivates you, definitely have one waiting for you as soon as you finish). Removing rust around your drain can be irritating, but you can remove the rust easily using salt and lemon juice. Start by pouring salt over the area. Next, coat the salt in lemon juice and let it sit (preferably overnight). In the morning, you'll be able to wipe away that irritating rust.

Get Rid of Stains With Vinegar and Baking Soda Paste

Vinegar and baking soda are universal cleaners. Not only are they cheap, but you can use them for just about everything. To remove rust stains or even hair dye stains in your tub, combine vinegar and baking soda. The quantities will be different depending on how much you need, but you are looking to create a nice thick paste. Now grab a Brillo pad or some steel wool and use the paste as a scrub. Let it sit on tough stains overnight before scrubbing.

Hacks for Glistening Shower Walls

Getting scum off your shower walls can make you want to throw in the towel, but it must be done. Use these tips and tricks to tackle this task with minimal hassle.

Erase Stains Like Magic

Add a little water to a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and get scrubbing. These are great for all over the house, and they're also perfect for the bathroom. You'll find those mildew stains just wipe away.

Banish Soap Scum With Vinegar and Dawn

Mix equal parts vinegar and Dawn in a spray bottle. Give it a light shake to mix the two together and coat the shower walls. Leave on for five minutes while you clean another area and then wipe away. To add to this mixture's cleaning power, either heat the vinegar before mixing it with the soap or heat the bathroom.

Hacks for Totally Pristine Toilets

Sure, you could turn to a commercial toilet bowl cleaning product, but there are simpler and easier (and less toxic) ways to clean your toilet

Make Your Throne Shine With Pumice

This one is quite simple. All you need is a pumice stone, like the kind you use to scrub your feet, and a bit of elbow grease. First, flush the toilet a few times. Then, take the pumice stone and use it to scrub the inside of the toilet. Stains will be gone in no time.

Clean and Sanitize With Hydrogen Peroxide

Another way to get rid of rust and scum in the toilet is to pour a half cup of hydrogen peroxide in the toilet and let it sit for about 20 to 30 minutes. Then, scrub it with a toilet brush.

Use Coke to Get Rid of Gunk

While this might sound a bit far-fetched, Coca-Cola actually does work to remove scum and rust from a toilet. Simply fill your toilet with a can of Coke and let it sit for about an hour. You can then scrub and flush.

Sink, Faucet, and Counter Magic

While most of the hacks that work on your tub will also work on your sink, there are a few additional tricks for cleaning your sink and counters.

SOS Pads Will Shine Your Sink & Faucets

While SOS pads work great in the kitchen, they can also be effective for removing stains and scum from your bathroom countertop and sink. They can also work for shining up your faucets. Just add a little water and scrub.

Try a Wand

While everyone wishes there was a magic wand for cleaning the bathroom, dishwands are great for cleaning bathroom sinks and counters. Fill it with your favorite grease cutter and give your sink and countertops a good scrub.

Get Everything Shiny With Coconut Oil

To get your faucets nice and shiny, you can try a little coconut oil. Using a washcloth, rub it on the faucet. Buff off and enjoy having your shine back.

Use Petroleum Jelly for Shiny Faucets (& Lips)

While this might sound strange, Vaseline or any type of petroleum jelly can be used to shine up your faucets and to protect them from water spots. Just add a little dab and use a cloth to bring back the shine.

Tricks to Brighten Grout

Sometimes you wonder if you will ever make your grout look white again. Never fear, grout hacks are here!

Get It White Again With a Bleach Pen

Just like you spot-clean your clothes, using a bleach pen on your grout can make it white again. Simply run it along the grout lines and let it sit for about 10 to 15 minutes, then rinse.

Clean Grout With Cream of Tartar and Lemon

Not only can lemons remove rust and make your bathroom smell amazing, but they can also help you clean grout. Mix a little cream of tartar with lemon juice to form a thick paste. Apply with a toothbrush and leave until the stains are gone.

Mirror mirror on the wall, how do I get you clean? Try a few of these simple remedies.

Clean With a Vinegar Solution

White vinegar is an all-around great bathroom cleaner that works exceptionally well to leave mirrors clean and streak-free. It is often used in high-class hotels as a streak-free hack. Either use vinegar straight or cut it with water in a spray bottle. Simply apply, then buff your mirror with a soft cloth.

Get Streak-Free With Shaving Cream

Shaving cream is another surprising substance for cleaning your mirror and getting it streak-free. Just squirt a little on the mirror and buff it off with a soft cloth. Not only will this leave no streaks, but it has the added bonus of being a defogger.

Get a Dust-Free Exhaust Fan

If you want a way to clean out your exhaust fan without taking it off, try a freshly emptied shop vacuum in reverse so it blows air. This works much better than a can of air or just dusting the outside.

Raise the Temp to Make Cleaning Easier

Raising the temperature of the bathroom is a key tip that professionals use. Most cleaning solutions will work better in a warmer environment. Therefore, if you can raise the temperature of your bathroom about five to 10 degrees, this will help make cleaning easier. To do this, try letting the hot shower run before cleaning or even using a space heater to heat things up.
