When the world wakes up from winter outside my doorstep, I start to feel a longing to bring new life indoors, too. I look around at my cozy throws and spicy candles that sustained me through the winter, and they just no longer seem to fit my energy. As much as I want to, I can't redecorate my house every season, but I can make small, easy, affordable changes with a big impact that will help get me in the spring spirit as I awaken from winter.
Ready for your own spring awakening? Let these ideas be your springspiration for welcoming the energy of new beginnings into your home.
Add a Bouquet of Cut Flowers

Whether you cut them from your garden, grab a bouquet at a farmers market, or pick up an affordable bunch on your weekly grocery run, a vase of spring flowers brings so much life and color into your space. From tulips early in the season to a riot of wildflowers as summer approaches, you'll love the lift fresh flowers bring to your home.
Make These Cute Hanging Bottle Bouquets

Make the most of thrift store finds by repurposing old bottles — clear or colored — into the most adorable hanging vases. With a glue gun, some twine or rope, and bottles, you can create the cutest hanging vase that doubles as a suncatcher. Fill it with anything from fern fronds to dandelions to daffodils and hang it in sunny windows or anywhere you want to see spring blooming around you.
Bring in Pops of Sunny Color

Whether you're a crafter who can sew up a storm or an expert thrifter who finds true decor bargains, you can add small sunny touches to your decor affordably and without a ton of effort.
Yellow is a truly springy color — and adding pops of yellow is easy. Add a few yellow toss pillows (you can just buy or make a pillow cover to cover existing pillows) or other yellow decor objects to bring pops of spring color throughout your home. With yellow, less is more, so very small additions will have a big impact.

Create a Spring Vignette

Creating a spring vignette as a dining table centerpiece or setting one on a side table is so inviting. I love the breezy spring feel of the cheerfully painted green birdhouse (you can pick them up at craft stores for cheap), a white lattice vase, and yellow daffodils that bring the outdoors in.
Add Robin's Egg Blue Accents

Bring to mind the childhood wonder of finding a delicate blue robin's eggshell in spring by adding sweet robin's egg blue accents in your home. From lightweight throws to thrifted tableware or vases, this color invokes spring in the most nostalgic ways.
Make It Smell Like Spring, Too

Changing your home's scent profile can also help evoke a spring feeling without costing much money. Switch from heavy, woodsy, spicy scents that feel so comforting in the winter to lighter floral and herbal aromas for the spring. Whether you bring in a bouquet of fragrant hyacinths or pick out a floral aroma diffuser, it's a great way to bring more spring to your decor.
Let the Sun Shine in With Sheers

Give your heavy winter window treatments a break and invite the sunshine in with lightweight sheers. These simple window treatments provide pretty filtered light, and they're so inexpensive. If you can thrift a set of vintage sheers, even better, but these affordable window treatments add such a lightweight touch to any room. You can bring out your heavy window treatments as fall draws to a close.

Lighten Up Your Throw

That fluffy throw that was so cozy in the winter looks overdone for spring. But a throw can still add texture and provide warmth on the chillier days. So choose a colorful throw in a light fabric and give your heavy winter throws the spring and summer off.
Add Wicker Accents

A few wicker accents (like baskets, lampshades, or even wall decor) can add a lightweight feel that speaks of spring. I love adding wicker mats to my tablescapes in the spring that I combine with colorful dishes and florals, but you can add wicker in any way you want. If you already have wicker baskets, see how you can repurpose them to fit your spring decor, or head to the thrift shop and see what you can find.
Bring a Touch of Spring to Your Space

There are so many ways you can add little touches of spring to your living space that won't cost much money. With creativity, a few craft supplies, some flowers, and some thrifting know-how, you can welcome spring without breaking the bank.
