You should know a few things about me: I love fresh herbs, I love to cook, and nothing makes me lose my mind faster than spending $65 on a single sprig of fresh basil at the grocery store. Okay, so no, it's not that much, but paying for fresh herbs is insulting. To add to the insult, I could've just grown my own.
So now I do! I may not have a full roster of herbs ready to go all the time, but with a little planning, you can have an indoor herb garden with a theme that'll make your cooking pop in a big way.

Tea Herb Garden
When the weather gets the tiniest chill and there's even a whisper of sweater weather on the horizon, tea becomes my full-time personality until that first bloom in spring.
It wasn't until a few years ago that I knew — let alone even thought about — that instead of using bagged mint tea, I could use the mint I grow. Since then, I've fleshed out my tea herb garden.
Essentials Herb Garden
Everyone has their essentials when they go to the grocery store or the usual crew of herbs you always use. Leave those bottles in the cabinet — you'll soon have the herbs you use ready and fresh for you to pick. Opt for the herbs that you use the most.
Pizza Herb Garden
When the moon hits your eye, it illuminates the perfect pizza pie herb garden you have at your fingertips. Ready to doctor up your frozen pizza or add a little extra zest to your quick tortilla pizza? Also, I have to thank Billings Farm and their pizza garden for this inspiration.

Breakfast Herb Garden
Like my dad, I am a major fan of breakfast. I'm talking perfectly crunchy outside and soft inside home fries, sunny-side-up eggs, or cheesy scrambled eggs.
I've never been able to duplicate any of his home fries, but I have started to step up my egg game. And I must say, my scrambled breakfasts these days are quite eggselent.
